Carla and Sascha started the morning by sharing their innate enchantment with a cocktail of activities, which all helped the participants to be very attentive and to take immediate action when necessary.
After these activities, Carla, Sascha and the participants started their real journey on the magic carpet. All the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle finally started to fit together. At the beginning of the play, on the stage there will be four boxes and all the actors will be asleep. They will then wake up and start walking at different speeds. After some time walking around on stage, the actors will meet and greet each other, still using the speed they woke up with. The actors will then discover the boxes, each actor having a different reaction when finding the boxes; be it happiness or fear, be it excitement or anger, be it surprise or disappointment. The actors will then position themselves to form a machine. Each actor will do a number of movements to move the box from the previous ´part´ of the machine to the next.
Eventually the machine will stop and the actors will divide themselves into groups. Three groups of three actors, and another group of two actors. Each group will open a box and take out the pieces of cloth. The participants will then use their imagination to try and make something with the pieces of cloth on stage. This will eventually lead to the making of the puppets. At this point in time, the participants had the opportunity to practice making the puppets themselves.
They let their imagination run wild as the participants discovered ways to bring the puppets to life. Hugging, waving, dancing, skipping and walking were all ways to interact the puppets together.
Carla and Sascha concluded the session by telling the participants to think about the character they want to interpret.
